Press Bio:
The Irreverends are a 4-piece outfit from Boston who walk the line between rock, indie pop and alt-country. Equally at home playing a country ballad or an Elvis Costello-ish raveup, the Irreverends put their all into every performance and attempt to bring something unique to each audience.

John Brookhouse (guitar), Brendan Reilly (bass) and Adam White (vocals, guitar) have performed together in various lineups for nearly 10 years (they started young), and together with drummer Chris Keene (drums, formerly of the Takers), the Irreverends are a tight unit eager to preach the rock gospel to New England and beyond.

Vocalist White has been playing original solo material for several years and brings a songwriter's lyrical bent to a group with all the necessary chops and attitude to roughen up any preconceived notions of singer/songwriter softness. Guitarist Brookhouse writes gritty yet melodic music that can recall the rough and tumble of the Replacements, the elegaic fretwork of Built to Spill or the country-rock leanings of "Sweetheart of the Rodeo"-era Byrds, sometimes within the span of one number. Anchored by the in-the-pocket rhythm section of bassist Reilly (whose previous projects range from classic jazz to 4/4 punk to even gospel) and indie rock veteran drummer Keene, the Irreverends play rock and roll with the passion it deserves but is all too often missing.

The Irreverends have performed all over the Eastern Seaboard from New York City to Maine at such clubs as the Lizard Lounge, TT the Bears, Johnny D's, Harpers Ferry, the Abbey Lounge, and even Club Passim. They are comfortable playing with bands from various genres on a variety of bills, from roots to rock to pop to indie rock.
