WED. Dec. 8th

(from the Club Passim website)
James O'Brien, Randy Kaplan, Adam White: James O'Brien's shows are fierce, upbeat, folk-punk reactions to our political world. Randy Kaplan writes eclectic, funny song puzzles about heart, soul and mind. Adam White fronts Boston rock outfit Irreverends and populates his song worlds with desparate characters and a dose of American Gothic atmospher (that's a pretty good descripto, no?).

(view flyer)
With Bobby Bare Jr. and Golden West Motorlodge. Bobby Bare Jr., a Nashville singer songwriter (who also happens to be the son of Bobby Bare who wrote "Miller's Cave" and other great country classics), just released a great record on Bloodshot called "From the End of Your Leash." I got it a couple months ago and haven't stopped listening to it since. We are scheduled to go on at 10:30.

FRI., JULY 23rd
The Abbey Lounge Somerville, MA

This show is going to be great. First up are the Scrimshanders (reunion featuring members of the Dirty Truckers), then us probably at about 9:30 or so (get there early!), The Dirty Truckers in rock star slot, and Beefy DC will close out the night. The Dirty Truckers are sort of a countrified replacements kind of thing and will feature the incredible Rich Gilbert on guitar (Frank Black, Tonya Donelly, tons of other great acts). Beefy DC are I guess what you would call a tribute band of sorts, but unlike most tribute bands who suck and only do it for the money, Beefy DC recreate Bon Scott era AC/DC in all of it's awesome glory and do it because they love it. Not to be missed!!!!!!

SAT., JULY 10th
TT the Bear's Cambridge, MA

(view flyer: green or purple)
With the Tarbox Ramblers and the Downbeat 5. You really can't ask for a better lineup than that! The new Tarbox Ramblers CD "A Fix Back Home" has been getting some great reviews in the national press. And the Downbeat 5 are f**ing great. If you want an evening of "the real stuff," this is it folks.

THURS., JUNE 3rd

| (view flyer)
We are psyched to be playing at the Lizard Lounge again (where we played our debut gig), and with two great rootsy bands from Providence, Lucky 57 and Barn Burning. We go on last. Lucky 57 is currently hosting a monthly roots-rock series in Providence called Your Roots are Showing that has some stellar acts lined up. I have been doing the posters for the series, too. Check out the latest one.

(2003)
DECEMBER 29th
Club Passim, Cambridge

We are playing one song (Poor Poor Pitiful Me) for a Zevon tribute night. I think we are playing acoustically for a change, since it is a "quick change" kind of night. Slap on some birkenstocks (kidding of course... Sorrells might be better this time of year).

NOVEMBER 28th
Nakorn Thai, Bar Harbor, Maine

(view flyer)
This is going to be a little different for us, as we have to play for 2 hours. Who, Bub? is opening up (i guess their name is usually "Whoah, Bubba," but they are a couple men down, so it's just "Who, Bub?"... Don't ask me...) Luckily, it is legal to jam in the state of Maine. It's a safe bet that there will be a 14 minute "Cowgirl in the Sand" played at this show... sorry. Bar Harbor is a special place for us, as the band that Adam, Brendan and I used to play in would play there all the time during the tourist season. Our good buddy Jason bartends here and it promises to be a great night of rock n' roll (chances are, there will be some serious drinking going on, as well) Since we are all from various places in Maine, it's going to be pretty easy for us to meet up after we feast on turkey and mashed potatoes with our families (Just don't make me eat the tomato aspic or the turnips, ma! While we are at it, the creamed onions aren't my favorite either.) - jb
